Over the past few months, Royal Enfield has been rapidly working on its new product range. Earlier, the company was spotted testing some new bikes like Thunderbird X and Classic 350, mid of last year. New images have been surfaced online, which reveals that the company has huge plans in 2020. The famous bike maker is working on a new model apart from Thunderbird X and Classic 350. The recent spy shots reveal some details about the upcoming model.
The images reveal that the model in works will be a mid specs variant. It has some sportier elements which make it different from other RE bikes. However, there are few elements which seem inspired by the best-selling Thunderbird. Starting from the front fascia, it gets new headlight set up, forks and the rounded digital instrument cluster. The bike observed with a twin-cradle frame, similar to the spy shots of the upcoming RE Classic model.
The Royal Enfield bike is updated with a new tail light which is repositioned compared to Thunderbird. It also has a new oval-shaped fuel tank design along with turn indicators which are placed a little higher. The company has replaced with Thunderbird’s elongated design with attractive looking triangular side panels. The underpinnings and name of the bike are not known for now. Although, it will be positioned above the Classic 350.
The upcoming bike is expected to be produced with a new engine. It will be designed in Royal Enfield J platform along with an enhanced engined compared to existing 350cc platform. It will offer more performance as combined with a new gearbox set up which might be based on 650 twins, which comes with a 6-speed system. The engine seems similar to the matte-black surface. Some similar features include rear shock absorbers and V-shaped alloy-wheel design.
The new model gets longer single-piece seat which looks sleeker compared to the split-seat assembly. It has many identical features of the Thunderbird which was spotted earlier. When launched, it is likely to rival against Jawa Forty Two. However, the segment already has a tough competitor Classic 350, with its retro design. We can also assume that the company is focusing on a new designing concept for the new version of Thunderbird X. As of now, the bike isn’t confirmed officially, the fans are already excited for it.
