Let’s talk about the old 350cc mill and some new changes to it. There is not much difference except the BS6 ready engine, it produces 20.2bhp and 27Nm of torque. The torque has gone down by 1Nm compared to the older engine. But it’s still a healthy amount of number and is available low down the rev range. Royal Enfield also claims to use a newly developed clutch and transmission, to make clutch lighter and smoother shifts.

Meteor 250 will also get a newer chassis. The riding style and position will be like Thunderbird X, laid back, and comfortable cruising position. Another interesting feature is the Bluetooth enabled digital console. It’s a twin-pod design, while the bigger one being the analog unit with speedometer, gear indicator, eco indicator, odometer, clock, service reminder, and all the telltale lights. While the smaller and more interesting unit is a TFT LCD colored screen with Tripper Navigation Unit with Bluetooth connectivity.

You also get a USB charging unit placed in a convenient position. The front will get a full LED ring DRL, compared to the older small LED ring. All these specs and features along with better chassis should fill the void left by Thunderbird 350, Meteor appears to be an overall better product with sufficient modern features to keep it up with the times. The launch is on the cards soon.
