The Royal Enfield Interceptor and its twin the Continental GT 650 are ready to hit the roads. The showrooms in UK and Australia have already put them on display. Bookings have started in UK and India is expected to follow soon. The twins are made in India.
The classic touches in the interceptor is enhanced by black side panels and white red dual tone fuel tank. The grey-black colour theme of the Continental GT 650 with yellow here and there gives the bike a complete look. The seat height for single seat is 790 mm and for dual seat it is 793 mm. The Kerb weight is 198 kg, with a tank capacity of 12.5 litres.
The twin bikes run on the brand new 648 cc parallel twin SOHC fuel injected engine which produces a 47 bhp and 52 Nm torque, mated with a 6 speed unit gearbox. The front telescopic fork and the rear twin gas charged shock absorber are a part of both the bikes’ mechanism. The bikes are equipped with the standard ABS. The riding position of the Continenetal GT 650 is front leaning. The Interceptor is styled like a cruiser and the fuel tank resembles a pear. Wide handlebars and quilted twin seat are also its prominent features. The bikes are going to come with new accessories like engine guards, auxiliary electrical port, chrome stainless steel silencers, fly screens, seat cowls and soft panniers. The bikes use a digital spark ignition -TCI. The compression ratio is 9.5:1.
