Rolls-Royce Cullinan Showcased Its Potential At Goodwood Festival Of Speed

What comes to your mind when you think about Rolls Royce? Luxury, delicacy and comfort. It’s very unlikely that you give a thought to vehicle performance speed and cornering ability do you? Well because Rolls Royce is never about outright performance, but we often forget these cars pack a serious of an engine under their hood, so when the need comes Rolls Royce can suffice you in a hurry.

That is something that was showcased in the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The festival happens in the grounds of Goodwood House, West Sussex, England. It is a hill climb racing event featuring various set of cars. And to least of everybody expectations, Rolls Royce Cullinan took on the event. Not just any Rolls Royce but their huge SUV.

To everyone’s surprise, the car was not being driven around in a poised or calm manner around the track. In fact, it was going flat out in the straights, being thrashed around the corners with tyres screeching noise. Daryl Jones was the man behind the steering wheel and he was not taking it slow! Mind you the Cullinan is a pretty huge vehicle, 5.3 metres in length and over 2 metres wide and weight over 2.5 tonnes!

So what makes the Cullinan put on a show like that. First, a daring driver, secondly a gem of an engine. Powering the Cullinan is a 6.75-litre twin-turbo V12 making 571 PS and 850 Nm ft torque powering all the four wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. It can go from standstill to 100kmph in just 5.2 seconds.

If you’re super rich to own a Rolls Royce Cullinan or have or you’ll be happy to know that the SUV can be driven fast and take on the corners. The Rolls Royce Cullinan Price starts at a hefty price of Rs 6.95 crore in India, it’s definitely not in the reach of the regular buyer.
