Renault Triber was revealed globally in an event in India two months back. And not so long after that Renault India has launched the Triber in India today with a very aggressive introductory price of Rs 4.95 Lakh. The car will be available in four variants.
Renault very well understands the demand of the MPV segment and plans to take some part of the sales from the segment leader Maruti Ertiga. The Renault Triber is based on the same CMF-A platform that also underpins the Kwid. But only the platform is kept the same, the Triber gets many new components and features compared to the Kwid. Triber is set to bridge the gap between the Kwid and the Duster.
Booking of the Triber has also commenced from August 17th with a token amount of Rs 11,000. The front-end of the Triber features LED daytime running lights along with projector headlamps and Triple edge chrome front grille. The car gets 15-inch alloy wheels along with side cladding and roof rails. The back of the car also gets elongated tail lamps which look smart. Coming to the interior Triber has something Renault calls easy fix seats. According to Renault, these seats have 100+ seating combinations.
First, see you will notice inside the Triber is the utilization of cabin space, it feels very roomy. The dashboard has a large 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Carplay connectivity support. The interior gets a dual-tone treatment with Deep Black and Greige colour. Even the Instrument cluster is all LED. It also gets keyless entry and the Push Start/Stop Button.
Coming to the third row of Triber you get AC vent, armrests and even charging sockets. You can change the seating options by removing or folding seats. If the third row of seat is removed you get 625 litres of boot space and 31 litres interior storage pace. In terms of safety, the Triber comes with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, speed alert, seat belt reminder and pedestrian protection. It gets 82 mm of ground clearance.
Renault has priced the Triber very aggressively. It gets four variants. The Triber RXE costs Rs 4.95 lakh, RXL comes for Rs 5.49 Lakh, RXT is for Rs 5.99 Lakh and the top variant RXZ is Rs 6.49 Lakh (all prices are Ex-showroom Delhi). Comparing it with Grandi i10 Nios and the Maruti Suzuki Swift, the Triber variants are cheaper by a good margin.
