Renault has announced the name of their upcoming MPV as Triber. The MPV was previously codenamed as RBC. The name Triber is taken from the word tribe and the hashtag to be used for the MPV is #BeTheTribe. The Renault Triber MPV is slated to be launched in July, 2019 and is likely to be priced in the range of Rs 5.5 lakhs – Rs 8 lakhs. The Triber will be offered in a seven – seater configuration. The super spacious, ultra modular and India’s first are the three key terms associated with Triber.
From the spy images of the MPV, we have got to a number of features about the car. However, some the details are yet to be revealed. The exterior of the Triber features sporty accents. The Renault Triber comes with sleek headlamps, integrated LED daytime running lights and V shaped grille at the front. Moving on to the interior, the cabin gets a dual tone color scheme. The steering wheel design on the MPV is borrowed from the Captur. The other interior features includes steering mounted controls, 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, second row reclining seats, third row flat fold seats and ac vents for second and third row passengers.
The mechanics of the Triber is not is yet revealed. However, the Renault Triber is likely to carry the Duster’s powertrain. The MPV will be available in both petrol and diesel powering options. The 1.5 litre petrol engine churns out a power of 106 PS and produces a peak torque of 145 Nm on the other hand the 1.5 litre diesel engine makes a power of 110 PS power and produces a peak torque of 240 Nm. Both the engines come coupled to a manual transmission. However, a AMT gearbox can also be offered at the time of launch.
The safety features offered on the Triber are airbags, ABS with EBD as standard as well as cruise control, parking sensors, a speed alert system and reverse camera. The triber will be positioned below the Lodgy in the brand’s line up. The upcoming Renault Triber will take on the likes of the Maruti Ertiga and the Mahindra Marazzo.
