The Renault Kwid Outsider is the Brazil based Renault Kwid Climber, which is offered in our country. The Kwid Outsider is scheduled to arrive in Brazil the coming year. However, the automaker has uncovered the production version of the car at the 2018 Sao Paulo Motor Show ahead of its launch in 2019. Earlier the Kwid Outsider was showcased at the 2016 Sao Paulo Motor Show in concept form. The Kwid Outsider will be positioned top of the end variant in Brazil and is likely to be priced around Rs 8.15 lakhs. Renault kwid is one of the affordable cars in the auto markets of Brazil, however, the pricing is higher in the Brazillian auto markets as compared to the Indian markets.
The Renault Kwid Outsider gets a more adventurous and rugged appearance. The Kwid Outsider comes with a host of cosmetic accessories which are seen on the India based Renault Kwid Climber. The exterior features include the Outsider badging around the car, roof rails, plastic silver inserts in the front and rear bumper, big rub strips on the side and wheel arches surrounded by black plastic cladding.
The interior of the Renault Kwid Outsider resembles the interior of the India based Renault Kwid Climber. The interior comes in a black scheme with contrasting orange accents at various places including the AC vents, centre console, gear knobs, steering wheel, upholstery and door pads. The interior of the car comes equipped with a seven inch touchscreen infotainment system as standard.
The Renault Kwid Outsider is powered by a 1.0 litre 3 cylinder flex fuel engine. When running on petrol, this engine churns out a power of 66 PS and produces a peak torque of 92.1 Nm and the claimed fuel efficiency is 15.2 kmpl. On the other hand the motor churns out a power of 70 PS and produces a peak torque of 96 Nm when running on ethanol. The claimed fuel efficiency stand at 10.5 kmpl for the ethanol powered motor. A five speed manual transmission comes paired to the engine as standard. The Brazil based Renault Kwid Outsider will come equipped with four airbags and ABS as standard safety feature.
