Fancy having an alloy wheel for your RE Twin, but wonder about the quality of aftermarket alloys? Royal Enfield has your back. The company will soon introduce alloy wheel as an option for the Royal Enfield Twins. They have been listed as “Coming Soon” under the customisation page of Twins. This means that the owners can choose to run tubeless tires on their Twins. As of now, only the Thunderbird 350X and 500X are offered with alloy wheels and tubeless tires.
Tubeless tires have a host of advantages in comparison with Tube counterparts. They are more puncture resistant than tubed tires. Tubeless tires are easier to repair too and come in handy in situations where the rider has to get his/her hands dirty. They lose air at a lower rate in comparison to tubed tires and are less prone to a blowout. Alloy wheels also improve the style quotient of the bike to a greater extent. As they are available from the manufacturer itself, they will be durable and will be able to take the forces and abuse that Indian roads will throw at them.
The Twins are one of the few affordable bikes that are available with a host of customisation options from the manufacturer. Some of the accessories available are Touring seats, Flyscreen, Front reservoir caps, Oil filler caps, Engine guards, heel plates, panniers and intake cover kit.
A little more about the Twins
The Royal Enfield Twins were one of the most anticipated bikes of 2018. They were launched in November 2018 during the Royal Enfield Rider Mania 2018. The Twins are the most affordable parallel twin bikes on sale in India. The INT 650 and GT 650 draw power from an air-oil cooled 648cc parallel twin motor. This motor churns out 47 horsepower at 7250 RPM and 52 Nm of torque at 5250 RPM. About 80% of torque is available from as low as 2500 RPM, making the motor more tractable.
