Porsche has launched the facelift version of the Macan SUV in India today. The car is placed below the full-sized SUV Porsche Cayenne, but packs quite a punch. The facelift version was revealed last year globally.
Porsche Macan features various changes on the outside and the interior. Starting from the front end it has bee redesigned to give the car a wider appearance. LED headlights and a new front grille. The rear of the SUV also gets LED taillights connected through an LED strip, also the rear gets sporty-looking dual exhaust pipes.
Coming to the interiors you get a big 10.9-inch touchscreen unit which features the Porsche Communication Management system, Three-zone climate control, cruise control and a sunroof. Being an SUV it also gets the ‘off-road precision’ app which records various things when you decide to go off the road. A steering wheel is a unit borrowed from the 911. The car gets air suspension as standard.
Powering the Macan is a 2.0 litre, four-cylinder turbo petrol unit that makes 252hp and 370Nm of torque. There’s also a powerful variant as Macan S which gets a 3.0-litre, V6 turbo petrol unit that makes 354hp and 480Nm of torque. Both of the engines come mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The Macan can do 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds and has a top speed of 227 km/h, while the Macan S can do 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds and has a top speed of 254 km/h.
The new Macan comes in with four new exterior colour options – Miami Blue, Mamba Green Metallic, Dolomite Silver Metallic, and Crayon. The Porsche Macan costs Rs 69.98 lakh (ex-showroom) for the standard variant and Rs 85.03 lakh (ex-showroom) for Macan S. It competes with, Audi Q5, BMW X5, and Mercedes-Benz GLC.
