Nexa has commenced the bookings for new S-Cross petrol. It is powered by 1.5L K Series petrol engine, meaning it will have the next gen Smart Hybrid technology. This will be the very first time that the S-Cross will be offered with a petrol engine – in line with Maruti’s direction of going petrol only post BS6. The new S-Cross is likely to be launched on August 5.
Customers can book the New S-Cross online or by visiting nearest Nexa showroom – and there’s 370 plus showrooms across India. The booking amount is set at INR 11,000. The Petrol S-Cross will offer new features, including an updated infotainment system. It will be available in 4 trims – Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. While a 5-Speed Manual gearbox will standard, a 4 Speed torque converter automatic gearbox will be optional. The dual battery Smart Hybrid technology with Li-ion battery aligns with the Maruti’s commitment to offer a wide range of green vehicles. The Petrol engine is expected to develop 103 bhp/138 Nm.
Mr. Shashank Srivastava, Executive Director (Marketing & Sales), Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said,“S-Cross enjoys a special place in the NEXA portfolio as its flagship product and has been appreciated by over 1.25 lakh customers for its premium interiors, stylish and masculine design. We are delighted to announce the commencement of bookings for the S-Cross Petrol. With our relentless innovations, we are optimistic that the S-Cross Petrol will be yet another testament for our customer’s confidence and trust.”
It will rival the likes of Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster and Nissan Kicks. The car is expected to be priced competitively, i.e in the range of 7-11 lakhs.
