Nissan has taken the covers off its new B-SUV concept – the Nissan Magnite. This new sub-4-meter SUV is a part of the 8 new launches planned for the India region. Along with this, Nissan also unveiled the new Nissan Ariya Electric crossover and also the new Nissan brand logo.
The new Nissan Magnite is a sub-4-meter concept SUV that will be priced extremely competitively. The design follows a traditional Nissan approach with a large hexagonal front grille along with narrow headlights and DRLs. The front bonnet also gets some lines and flares to make it stand out. The rear features a new hollowed-out boot design along with tail lamps that stands out from the rest of the rear. The concept design also sports huge alloy rims and extra body cladding all around.
The new Nissan Magnite will be based on the CMF-A platform derived from the likes of the Kwid and the Triber. This also suggests that the new compact SUV will target the budget market and will likely undercut cars Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, or the Tata Nexon. Coming to the powerhouse of the new SUV, Nissan has revealed no information. But, we can expect it to run on similar engine options as found in the Triber. This means we can see Magnite with either the 1.0-liter 3-cylinder motor. the new 1.0 turbo petrol motor, or both.
The new SUV will be manufactured in their Oragadam plant, near Chennai and will mainly target the Indian market. It is also expected to include some segment-first features like cruise control, 360-degree parking camera, touchscreen infotainment system, etc.
