Nissan India has announced the launch of the long awaited Kicks on 22nd January, 2019. The Nissan Kicks SUV will sport advanced technology integrations that simplify and improve driving experience. Besides that the SUV comes with the first-in-segment Around View Monitor and NissanConnect that features smartwatch connectivity and more than 50 features. Moreover the Nissan Intelligence Mobility allows the driver to connect to the car and function together as a single unit. The bookings for the car has commenced and can be booked for an token amount of Rs 25,000.
The Kicks is based on the Nissan Renault BO platform, which underpins the Renault Duster and the Nissan Terrano. The India based Kicks will be different from the International spec which is already on sale outside India. On the exterior, the Nissan Kicks SUV sports the V grille, floating roof, sweptback headlamps with projector lamps, LED tail lamps, LED daytime running lights and large central air dam. The SUV sits on 17 inch alloy wheels.
Nissan has effectively looked into the passenger comfort priority thereby providing the Kicks with features like arm rests, seat height adjustment feature for the driver as well as a rear AC blower for the passengers at the rear. The cabin of the Nissan Kicks SUV will be finished in brown black leather upholstery and will feature a 8.0 inch floating touchscreen infotainment system installed with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The other remarkable features on the Nissan Kicks SUV includes 360 degree camera, powered windows, steering column mounted audio controls, automatic climate control, USB charging ports, automatic climate control and electrically foldable wing mirrors. The safety features on the SUV includes four airbags, ABS with EBD, cruise control, keyless entry, star – stop button.
Nissan Kicks SUV will be offered in both diesel and petrol options at the time of launch. Diesel variant will be powered by a 1461cc, 4-cylinder, 1.5 K9K dCi diesel unit which churns out a power of 110 PS @ 3850 RPM and produces a peak torque of 240 Nm @ 1750 RPM. A six speed manual transmission will come paired to the engine. On the other hand Petrol powered variant will get a 1498cc, 4-cylinder, 1.5 H4K petrol engine that delivers a power of 106 PS @ 5600 RPM and produces a peak torque of 142 Nm @ 4000 RPM. A five speed manual transmission will come matted to the motor. When launched, Kicks will compete on the likes of Hyundai Creta and entry level variants of the Tata Harrier.
