The Nissan Kicks is expected to be launched in India around January 2019. In the Nilgiri mountain roads, the folks at IAB spied the heavily camouflaged test mule of the compact crossover. The Nissan Kicks was first unveiled at the Sao Paulo Motor Show, 2014 in concept form. This four- wheeler is already on sale in the International markets. The India based model will different from the one sold in the International markets. Alfonso Albaisa, Nissan’s design chief said, “the India spec version would look much better” to the motoring website. Moreover, India spec model will be based on BO platform which is more affordable. This is different from the International market based car which is based on the V platform. The BO platform for the India spec Kicks is the base for the Nissan Terrano, the Renault Duster and Captur.
The Nissan Kicks to be sold on the Indian markets will be available in both petrol and diesel engine variants. The India spec Nissan Kicks will draw power from the 1.5 litre H4K petrol engines as well as 1.5 litre K9K dCi diesel engines. The India bound Nissan Kicks will be showcased by the end of 2018 and the launch is expected in early 2019. The India based Nissan Kicks will be produced from the Alliance plant located in Oragadam, Chennai. The International based Kicks will measure 4295 mm in length, 1760 mm in width and 1590 mm in height. This car has got a wheelbase of 2610 mm.
The Nissan Kicks is will sportier and more stylish than the other on sale models of Nissan. The Kicks is a five seater car featuring massive wheel arches, a distinctive front grille, bold rigid styling bonnet, a raked rear windscreen and contrasting roof. The interior gets painted in a new colour and is equipped with 7 inch infotainment system, flat bottomed steering wheel and automatic climate controls. Moreover the car gets a fresh and young look therefore it is likely to attract the Indian youths. Besides ABS, the other features include automatic AC, rear AC, sunroof, keyless entry, dual air bags, engine mobilize, EBD, driver seat height adjust and brake assist.
