The Nissan Kicks is all set to launch on January 22, and Nissan is getting all ready for the deliveries. Based on the B0 platform, same as the Duster, the Kicks has got solid underpinnings to take on the rivals.

To make sure there’s no delay in deliveries Nissan has been quick enough to plan the dispatches and deliveries for January itself. The Kicks is being manufactured in Chennai plant and these pictures show few of them being dispatched from the plant. The test drive of Kicks is available in all Nissan dealership across India. Nissan is also offering a chance to watch the ICC Cricket World Cup in England for 500 customers. Nissan has done heavy localization for aggressive pricing. Coming to the design, the Nissan Kicks SUV sports a chrome V grille, floating roof with dual tone treatment, LED projector headlamps,  LED daytime running lights, LED tail lamps, large central air dam, skid plates with side moulding. The SUV sits on 17-inch 5-Spoke Alloy Wheels.

The interiors are feature rich with effective use of space, providing better comfort. It gets a dual-tone brown & black Interior. There’s also carbon fibre finish around the infotainment system. Door trims and dashboard are wrapped with leather to provide the premium finish. Climate control is standard across all trims with the cooled glove box. The Nissan Kicks provides you with a healthy boot space of about 400 Litres.

Also, Nissan is offering a 360-degree camera called Around View Monitor Display(AVM), which can be viewed on 8-inch touchscreen unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Nissan Kicks also gets automatic wipers, automatic headlamps, cruise control, cornering fog lights and an ECO mode.

On the safety front, it gets ABS and EBD as standard. It also gets Hill Start Assist. Powering the Nissan Kicks is both diesel and petrol options at the time of launch. The Diesel mill gets a 1461cc, 4-cylinder, 1.5 K9K dCi diesel unit which makes 110 PS at 3850 RPM and produces a peak torque of 240 Nm at 1750 RPM.  Transmission duties will be offered by a 6-speed transmission. While the Petrol engine is a 1498cc, 4-cylinder, 1.5 H4K petrol engine that makes 106 PS at 5600 RPM and a peak torque of 142 Nm at 4000 RPM. But the petrol version will get a 5-speed transmission.

The Nissan Kicks will rival with Hyundai Creta, Renault Captur and Renault Duster. It is expected to be priced between Rs 9.4 lakh to 15 lakh (ex-showroom).
