The Automated Transmission Manual or the AMT version of the Nexon released by the Tata Motors was released yesterday. This version is only available for the top spec XZA+ variant for now. The car-makers have been famous overnight by offering the customers the diesel automatic combination , which is a rare phenomenon in the compact SUV segment.
The new dual tone orange and silver exterior finish and the XZA+ badge at the back of the car differentiate the AMT and the manual versions of the Nexon. The petrol variant of the XZA+ runs on a 110 hp\170 Nm 1.5 litre, 3- cylinder, turbo engine and the diesel variant runs on a 110 hp\260 Nm 1.5 litre, 4 cylinder turbo engine. Both of them comes along with a 6 speed AMT., which has a manual mode too, shifting the driving mode to Sport by default when used. Hill assists and creep function for traffic situations are the benefits of the AMT.Projector headlamps, LED day running lights, 16 inch alloy wheels covered by 215/60 tyres, 60-40 split folding backseats, front fog lamps, a Harman sourced 6.5 inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Android Auto and a smart key are a few of its stand out features, resulting in such a beauty.
The diesel variant is claimed to have no such competitions, because the automobiles like the EcoSPort diesel, priced between Rs. 9.16 lakhs-11.04 lakhs, or the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, priced between 8.62 lakhs-11.33 lakhs, doesn’t come with an AMT option, which is the USP of the Nexon’s XZA+ variant. The Mahindra NuvoSPort and the TUV300 are the only cars which comes with an AMT mated diesel engines, but still aren’t considered potential rivals if the overall mechanism of the cars are considered. Bookings for both the variant of the Nexon had already begun, where the initial payment was fixed at Rs. 11000.
