The second generation all new Maruti Ertiga MPV is set to hit the Indian auto markets on 21st November, 2018 in India. Maruti Suzuki India Ltd has built the second generation Ertiga based on the heartect platform. This same platform underpins the new Maruti Suzuki Swift and the new Maruti Suzuki Baleno. Maruti Suzuki India Ltd has started the production of the India based new Maruti Ertiga MPV and some of the dealerships have started accepting bookings as well. The customers need to make a payment of Rs 15,000 for booking. The new Maruti Ertiga is likely to be priced (ex showroom) in between Rs 6.4 lakhs to Rs 10.8 lakhs.

The second generation Maruti Suzuki Ertiga will get exterior and interior updates and most importantly the MPV will get the petrol powering option as well. The new Maruti Ertiga MPV will be lighter and stiffer than its earlier counterpart. On the exterior the Ertiga MPV sports sleek headlamps stretched to front fenders, boomerang like LED tail lamps and new front grille. Therefore the exterior of the new Maruti Ertiga MPV comes with revised styling. The MPV is now measures 99 mm longer, 40 mm wider and 5 mm taller than its predecessor. However the wheelbase of the second generation Ertiga remains same which measures 2470 mm.

On the interior, the new Maruti Ertiga MPV features a redesigned dashboard in dual tone – black and beige. The dashboard comes with new steering wheel. Besides that the new Maruti Ertiga will feature SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system and a new instrument cluster with a large MID. Moreover, the interior is now more spacious due to the increased dimensions and adds to improved passenger room in the 3rd row. The MPV will come with ABS and dual air bags as standard safety feature.

The new Maruti Ertiga MPV will be offered in both petrol and diesel variants. The new Ertiga MPV will be powered by a new 1.5 litre K15B four cylinder SHVS petrol motor. This engine churns out a maximum power of 104 bhp and produces a peak torque of 138 Nm. On the other hand the diesel powered Ertiga extracts power from the same 1.3 litre unit, which delivers a maximum power of 89 bhp and produces a peak torque of 200 Nm.
