New BMW 4 Series Coupe Unveiled with New Design: Launch in October

BMW has recently unwrapped its 4 Series Coupe, which is more than awesome. The official launch for the international market will be held in October 2020. The company has modified the complete designing of 4 Series Coupe. It looks more sporty and stylish than ever. The 4 Series is designed on the CLAR platform based on 3 Series, but the new model gets an amazing transformation.

Starting for the designing, the car is installed with the company’s traditional bold looking kidney grille at the front, similar to the 7 Series models. It looks smooth and sleek from the front with new elements. The sleeker and classy side profiles along with slim LED headlamps make it look attractive. In terms of dimension, the car measures 4,768mm in length, 1,852mm in width and 1,383mm in height.

Compared to earlier models, the wheelbase is raised by 41mm to 2,851mm, similar to 3 Series while the track widened by 28mm at the front and 18mm at the rear. Now it sits on 20 inches alloy wheels, which was 18 inches in previous models. The sedan is highly modified inside the cabin along with loads of safety features as well.

Moving inside the cabin, we notice a new cockpit layout for the driver side. It is integrated with a new larger 10.25-inch Control Display and fully-digital 12.3-inch instrument cluster on option along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support as standard. It comes with a new centre console, new leather steering wheel and new comfortable seats, centre console knee pads on options. The rear seating arrangement is also modified with comfortable seats.

The 4 Series will be offered in three petrol engines and one diesel unit. It will get two 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol making 184hp (420i) and 258hp (430i), whereas a 48V mild-hybrid 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel producing 190hp (420d). The top-specs M440i xDrive will be powered by a 48V mild-hybrid 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbo petrol engine making 374hp and 500Nm. It will claim 0-100kph in just 4.5sec and a top speed of 250kph. The 286hp (430d) and 340hp (M440d) mild-hybrid six-cylinder diesel unit will be introduced later in 2021.

The engines are combined with a single 8-speed automatic gearbox transmission. M Sport models are available with a Sport ’box as optional. Additionally, it gets launch control and a new driving mode Sprint. The company offers rear-wheel drive as standard excluding on the M440i, 430d and M440d. The four-wheel-drive is available on the 430i and 420d only. BMW 4 Series will rival against the Audi A5 and S5, the Mercedes-Benz C300 and AMG C43.
