Hero MotoCorp has launched the new 2018 Karizma ZMR in India after a gap of more than one and a half years. The new 2018 Karizma ZMR was first unveiled at the Auto Expo, New Delhi, 2018.The new bike has not yet reached the showrooms. The bookings for the new bike has already begun in Hero Dealerships across India and Hero MotoCorp reported that 17 units were shipped in May,2018 while 12 units of the new motorcycle were shipped in June,2018.

The new 2018 Karizma ZMR is available in both standard and dual tone variant. The ex – showroom [Delhi] price of the standard variant is Rs 1.08 lakh which the dual tone variant has been priced at Rs 1.10 lakh. This price point makes the new 2018 Karizma ZMR a strong competitor of the Suzuki Gixxer SF and the Bajaj Pulsar 220.

Earlier in 2003 the Karizma ZMR was launched and the motorcycle was considered as a signature product of Hero MotoCorp. The refinement levels of this previously launched motorcycle along with the comfortable ergonomics and reliable mechanics added to motorcycles’ popularity among the long distance riders. But this bike was discontinued in 2016. The lack of update led to fall in sales growth of the bike.

The 2018 Karizma ZMR does not get any cosmetic update. The design remains more or less similar to its previous counterpart launched in 2003. The bike features the vertical headlamps with LED design. The new 2018 Karizma ZMR remains unchanged mechanically. The motorcycle gets powered to the same oil – cooled, single cylinder 223 cc BS-IV- compliant engine with fuel injection. The engine churns out a power of 20 bhp at 8000 rpm and produces a peak torque of 19.7 Nm at 6500 rpm. A five speed gearbox comes matted to the engine. The has been equipped with telescopic forks up front, twin shocks at the rear and disc brakes for controlling the braking at both the ends. But there is no anti braking system provided to the new bike. The new 2018 Karizma ZMR can attain a maximum speed of 129 km/h with a displacement of 223 mm. The compression ratio is 9.6:1.
