MV Agusta has jumped into the Adventure bikes category in India with their Turismo Veloce 800. Though MV Agusta might be a little late to the party, Turismo Veloce 800 has a lot going for it.
MV Agusta is backed up by Kinetic Motoroyale in India. While Turismo Veloce is available in four different variants globally – Standard, 800 Lusso, 800 Lusso SCS and a limited edition 800 RC SCS. As of now we only get the standard variant. The bike continues to have the design philosophy of MV Agusta, an yet looks very sleek. The front gets the headlight which looks similar to the F3, it also gets a tall visor. At the rear, you get the three upswept exhaust design. Headlight and the taillamps are both LEDs with Handguard integrated with turn indicators.
You get a TFT screen for the instrument cluster with a host of electronics. First, of you get an 8-level traction control unit. quick shifter which works both for up and downshifts, ride-by-wire and a slipper clutch. Coming to the most important part of the Adventure motorbikes, the suspension is fully adjustable. A 43mm Marzocchi USD forks and Sachs monoshock at the rear. Brakes come from Brembo, four-piston callipers with dual 320mm discs up front and 220mm single disc with two-piston callipers at the rear. It also gets a huge fuel tank of 21.5 litres.
Coming to the engine the bike gets a 798cc, thr￼ee-cylinder motor that makes 110hp at 10,150rpm and 80Nm of torque at 7,100rpm. Top speed is rated at 230km/h. MV Agusta has also worked on the torque curve so 90% of the torque is available from as low as 3,800 rpm. The bikes get 17-inch alloy wheel on both ends.
With a price tag of Rs 18.99 Lakh, MV Agusta Turismo Veloce 800 compete with Tiger 800 and Ducati Multistrada 950. While you can get a more focused adventure tourer at less price but for more sportier riding and beautiful Italian design you an consider the MV Agusta.
