Mini Countryman: British automotive maker, MINI has presented its latest model at the 2018 Auto Expo which is named Countryman. Finally, the company has stated that they will introduce its brand-new model in India. As per the latest reports, the Countryman will be rolled out on May 3, this year. The company is called Mini, but it doesn’t make low-spec models. Their cars can give tough competition to high-end luxurious vehicles. It will be the next luxury car in the Indian market. The upcoming model from MINI will compete against high-end extravagant models of SUV like Mercedes-Benz GLA, the Audi Q3, and standard, BMW X1. The upcoming Mini Countryman will receive a price tag of INR 36 lakh (ex-showroom).
As we all know, MINI is a BMW owned firm. The upcoming latest Countryman is inspired by the designing of the BMW X1 so, it will be also equipped with the identical motors. The latest MINI car will available in two petrol choices which are Cooper S and Cooper S JCW Inspired. The petrol motor will be equipped with a powerful 2.0-litre turbo-petrol which is capable of producing 192hp max power and delivers 280Nm of peak torque.
A diesel variant will also be rolled out which will be Countryman Cooper SD. It will be available in a 2.0-litre diesel motor which produces 190hp of max power and 400Nm of peak torque. The petrol, as well as the diesel variant, will be combined with an 8-speed automatic gearbox transmission which is also similar to the popular BMW X1. It will offer great performance at 220 km/h. It can complete 0-100 km/h speed in about 7.7 seconds.
The Countryman’s continues to get the traditional cosmetic touch up of the company. However, there are many changes which are remarkable. It has somewhat unlike appearance compared to the previous models. It is outfitted with an aerodynamic tool, back roof spoiler, a faux diffuser and latest 18-inch JCW impressive spoke alloy tires. It has got a sporty appearance from the from facia with new headlamps and tail-lamps which are square-shaped. It comes with striking back wheel curves. It has a husky inclined chrome grille, dynamic bumpers and stout cladding encompassing the wheel curves.
The rear section of the roof is floating which also gives it a sporty touch which makes it different from other variants. The top-specs, S JCW Inspired alternative will come with a front cover air duct. The company has featured an iDrive infotainment system on the dashboard. The touchscreen display is expected to measure 6.5-inch or 8.8-inch which will be packed with highlights such as drive modes, cruise control, parking assistance and a head-up display. By introducing the latest model, Mini aims to attract young customers.
