After the International debut in January the Mini, has finally launched its facelift Cooper in India. The price of the car ranges between Rs. 29.70 lakhs and Rs. 37.04 lakhs depending on the trim and its engine. The cars will be available in stores by June 2018.

The Mini Cooper is available in three door , five door and convertible body styles just like its predecessor. The three door body styled trim gets petrol or diesel engine options , the five door one gets diesel and the convertible one gets the petrol option only. The car has two variants, the Cooper S and Cooper D. The Cooper S has a  2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine churning out a 192 hp power and 280 Nm torque mated with a new 7 speed dual clutch automatic transmission system,which can be controlled by paddleshifters mounted on the steering. The reported top speed of the S variant of the car is 235 kmph and has an accelaration from 0-100 kmph in 6.7 seconds. On the other hand, the Cooper D has got a 1.5-litre, three-cylinder, turbo-diesel engine making a maximum power of 114 hp and peak torque of 270 Nm. A six speed automatic gearbox is also offered. The Cooper D reaches atop speed of 205 kmph with an accelaration of 0-100 kmph in 9.2 seconds.

The Mini Cooper can be driven in three modes, namely the green, sport and standard, based on the suspension adjustment. The monocoque chassis type car has a dimension reading, 3850 mm length, 1727 mm width and 1414 mm height. The wheelbase is 2495 mm and the ground clearance is 124 mm. The kerb weight of the Cooper is 1250 kgs. The boot space is 211 litres. The fuel tank capacity is 44 litres. The mileage claim of the company is around 14.49 kmpl.

Dual-front airbags, brake assist, three-point seat belts, stability control, a crash sensor, ABS, Cornering Brake Control and run-flat tyres are the safety measures the manufacturers have equipped the car with. Park Assist feature is also available as an option, along with cruise control, rear view camera and head-up display. Mercedes A-class and Volvo V40 are the potential rivals of the facelift launched recently. Emerald Grey metallic, Starlit Blue metallic and Solaris Orange metallic are the available shades of the Cooper in the market.
