MG Motor India Partners with Tata Power to Deploy Superfast Chargers

Recently, MG Motor India announced, they have signed a contract with Tata Power (India’s biggest integrated power utility) to install superfast chargers for electric vehicles (EV). The project will be started at select MG showrooms to provide end-to-end charging solutions. According to the agreement, Tata Power will expand 50KW DC superfast chargers at preferred MG showrooms. While the end-to-end EV charging at every dealership, in the country.

The carmaker focus on targetting metropolitan cities in India for building a better future in their EV projects. However, they will slowly increase EV charging set up all over India, after increasing demand. The new superfast 50KW DC chargers will be available for MG ZS EV buyers and EV model owners who have got vehicles fit with the CCS / CHAdeMO charging measures.

Currently, MG Motor India has installed about 10 SuperFast 50 kW charging stations in its dealerships in five cities: New Delhi- NCR, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. They are looking forward to expanding in more dealerships. Tata Power has also installed an extensive EV Charging ecosystem with 180+ Charging stations in 19 cities backed with EZ Charge name and digital platform.

The carmaker focuses on increasing connection to reach all the interested buyers. The latest contract between both the firms will include centre excellence and operating vehicles in order with their present customer-centric proposal. It further includes searching for the opportunity of 2nd life administration of EV batteries.
