MG Motors has today launched the Gloster, their flagship SUV. The Gloster was initially showcased at the 2020 Indian Auto Expo, where they also showcased the G10. Prices start from INR 29.98 Lakh for the base “Super” trim and goes upto INR 35.38 lakh for the top of line Savvy trim.

With the booking amount set at INR 1 lakh, the Gloster has already garnered about 500 bookings. Under the hood is a 2.0l, twin-turbo diesel engine, developing 218bhp of power and 480Nm of torque. Gearbox is an 8-speed automatic unit. The Gloster has an on-demand 4WD system and four different off-road drive modes – sand, rock, snow, and mud. It also gets three drive modes for city – eco, sport and auto. We have 4 trims in the Gloster – Super, Sharp, Smart and Savvy.
Given its dimensions, the Gloster is easily the tallest (1867 mm), widest (1926 mm) and the longest (4985 mm) vehicle in the segment. The wheelbase is also the the longest – at 2950mm. The Gloster gets a host of features and some of them are listed below

Safety and Driver assitance
In terms of Driver assistance and safety, the Gloster is equipped with an array of technology. The foremost is the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). ADAS enhances driving experience and safety by assisting the driver and also allows the car to park itself in tight spots. The relatively long list of features include

- Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB)
- Automatic Parking Assist
- Forward Collision Warning (FCW)
- Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
- Blind Spot Detection (BSD)
Other safety features include dual front, side and curtain airbags, Traction control, electronic stability program (ESP), Hill hold control, hill descent control, and anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake-force distribution (EBD) and brake assist. The Gloster is available in a 6 and a 7 seater configuration. The base variant is offered as a 7 seater whereas, the mid variants are available as 6 seater versions. The top-spec has an option of 6 or 7 seater depending upon customer preference.
