Mercedes Benz is all set to launch the S63 Coupe on 18 th of June. The Mercedes AMG S63 will go up against the likes of Bentley Continental GT, the Rolls-Royce Wraith and the upcoming BMW M8. The price of the grand tourer is not yet disclosed but it is expected to be around some Rs. 3 crore.
The S63 runs on the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 twin-scroll technology and a ‘hot-vee’ arranged engine, which is same as that of the Mercedes AMG E63 S. The fuel efficiency is reduced by the popular cylinder deactivation fucntion. A four wheel drive is offered as a standard, and a 9 speed automatic gearbox comes along with it. It gives a power output of 612 Ps and a torque of 900 Nm. The car touches the 100 kmph speed mark in 3.5 seconds and reaches the high speed of 250 kmph. The high speed can be promoted upto 50 kmph, with the optional AMG driver’s pack. There is also a Race Start function too. The fuel consumption is expected to be 8.9 litres per 100 kms.
There is a panamerican grille on the front of the car with aggressive bumpers, and also features larger air intakes. The alloy wheel is 19 inches. Diffusser inserts and quad exhausts are also present in the rear end of the car. The interior is decorated with Nappa Leather and AMG badges on the backrests. The three spoke steering wheel and 12.3-inch TFT widescreen colour display completes the description. The display provides a lot of information like engine and transmission oil temperature, lateral and longitudinal acceleration, the engine output and torque, boost pressure, and tyre temperatures and pressures. The sedan is 65 kgs heavier than the currently available model. The twin tailpipes and the OLED (organic light emitting diodes) tail lamps are perfectly suitable for the Mercedes Benz AMG S63 coupe.
