March 2019 has been a productive month for many car companies. Brands like Toyota and Mahindra have reported small growth. However, Maruti Suzuki reports a marginal loss compared to the same month in 2018.
Maruti Suzuki India Limited sold 158,076 units in March 2019. This also includes 147,613 units in the domestic market and 10,463 units in exports. With this, the Company ended 2018-19 with its highest ever total sales of 1,862,449 units a growth of 4.7 per cent. This comprises the highest ever domestic sales of 1,753,700 units. The export sales were 108,749 units.
However, when it comes to the monthly report, the company sold 158,076 units in March 2019. This is 0.7 per cent less than the 160,598 units they sold in March 2018.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor
Toyota Kirloskar Motor registered a growth of 7 per cent in domestic sales in FY 18-19 compared to FY 17-18. The company sold 150,525 units in FY18-19 compared to 140,645 units in FY17-18.
Coming to the monthly report, Toyota sold 2 per cent more domestic units in March 2019 compared to March 2018. However, the company sold 15 per cent fewer exports in March 2019 compared to the same month last year.
Mahindra and Mahindra
Mahindra registers an overall growth of 11 per cent in FY19 compared to the previous year. The total sales are 6,08,596 vehicles, compared to 5,49,153 vehicles during FY-18, registering a growth of 11%.
The company’s domestic sales touched 59,012 vehicles during March 2019, as against 58,652 vehicles in March 2018. The Passenger Vehicles segment (which includes UVs, Cars, and Vans) sold 27,646 vehicles in March 2019, registering a growth of 4%. In the Commercial Vehicles segment, the company sold 24,423 vehicles in March 2019, as against 25,495 vehicles in March 2018. In the Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles segment, M&M sold 917 vehicles for the month. Exports for March 2019 stood at 3,940 vehicles, a growth of 15%.
