Maruti Suzuki S-Presso Teaser Released Launch on September 30

Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch a brand-new model, S-Presso. The car will join the other Maruti Suzuki cars range on 30th September 2019 in the Indian market. The company revealed the first official teaser of the Mini-SUV today. The company has placed the upcoming model between the Alto and the WagonR. The mid-specs car has already driven craze among the company’s enthusiasts as it will be a small car with an affordable price tag. The small passenger car will be revealed with an all-new trendy design.

Maruti S-Presso developed with the same upright shape showcased as Future S concept at Auto Expo 2018. Although, it is not the complete copy of the concept. It has a boxy front with an upper designed bonnet line. It is equipped with new headlights attached in a sleeker grille. The chrome elements on the grille look like Vitara BrezzaYou can see the LED DRLs underneath the headlights. The vehicle has a blacked-out fascia and rear bumper combined perfectly with body cladding on the side.

The upcoming S-Presso gets extended front wheel arches, a black B-pillar and powerful sides. The turn indicators are positioned on the front fenders and get 180mm of ground clearance which makes it attractive from the side portion. The retro designed boxy vehicle is aimed to attract the new-gen buyers with its trendy and retro combination. In terms of dimension, the S-Presso is 3,565 mm in length, 1,520 mm in width, and 1,564 mm in height. The wheelbase of the new Maruti model is 2,380 mm.

S-Presso is developed in the company’s HEARTECT platform which has offered popular models including Baleno, Swift, Dzire, Ignis, Ertiga, and WagonR. HEARTECT platform provides a lightweight structure, but high-strength and powerful cars. This will be the first model to be the lightest model in the company’s range. The overall weight of the new model will be just 726 kg which is 4 kg lighter than Alto. It will offer high fuel efficiency and better performance.

The all-new Maruti Suzuki S-Presso will comply with the BNVSAP safety norms as well. The new model will be available to buy from Maruti Suzuki’s Arena dealerships. Arena dealerships are more in the Tier-II and the Tier-III cities so, the company targets customers of such cities where SUV demand is high. The cabin of the car is a secret for now, but some report suggests that it could have a dark-grey theme. The dash can be integrated with a Mini-style round setup covering a digital speedometer and the 7.0-inch SmartPlay Studio touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.

The S-Presso will be sold in four versions: Standard, LXI, VXI and VXI Plus. The standard safety features include ABS, driver-side airbag, rear parking sensors, seat-belt reminders, a digital speedometer and a speed alert system. It will be also available in AMT versions limited to the top-specs trims only. LXi will come with air conditioner and power steering, keyless entry with central locking, Maruti’s SmartPlay Dock audio system with Bluetooth connectivity, front power windows, body-coloured bumpers and wheel covers.

The VXi+ variant includes a front passenger airbag, SmartPlay Studio infotainment system with voice recognition, steering-mounted controls, rear parcel tray, body-coloured ORVMs and door handles, and a 12V accessory socket. The new model will be powered by a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder engine which can be BS6 compliant. It can be also offered with CNG option. The engine can deliver 68bhp of power and 90Nm of peak torque. The model is likely to be priced between Rs 3.3 – 4.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
