Maruti Suzuki Ignis BS6 Launched At A Price Of Rs 4.89 Lakh

Maruti Suzuki has launched the Ignis Facelift in India after revealing it at the Auto Expo 2020. The car now gets a BS6 compliant engine as well as minor changes in the design and interior to give it a refreshing feel. Maruti has also tried to enhance the SUV design further with the new exterior changes.

Starting from Rs 4.89 Lakh for the Sigma variant, the Ignis has a total of 7 variants. With AGS (Automatic gearbox) being available in all variants except Sigma. Before we talk about the changes take a look at the new prices for all the variants (Ex-showroom Delhi).

Maruti Suzuki Ignis BS6 Price

Talking about the looks the front of the car gets a new front grille as well as a silver skid plate, which give it more dominating look than before. The side carries the SUV theme with high ground clearance and silver roof rails, the rear also looks wider with the new bumper. The interior also gets a new dual-tone Ivory colour with a new pattern for seats.

Speaking at the launch, Mr Kenichi Ayukawa, MD & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited said, “IGNIS enjoys a special place in the Maruti Suzuki NEXA portfolio and has been appreciated for its peppy drivability and spacious interiors. We have recognised an increasing preference for feature-loaded cars that have SUV-like high seating position and dominant road presence. We are confident that the all-new IGNIS with its SUV design and spacious interiors will appeal to the customers.”

The engine remains the same and now is BS6 compliant. The 1.2-litre VVT petrol motor makes 83hp and 113Nm of torque and is mated to a 5-speed transmission as well as 5-Speed AMT unit. The 1.3 Diesel has been discontinued now. You also have the option to get two new colours – Lucent Orange and Turquoise Blue. Also, there are three dual-colour option available in Zeta and Alpha variants for Rs 13,000 more. Customizations goes a notch up with two new option – Acropolis and Scorcher theme.

Maruti Suzuki Ignis with the BS6 compliant and its design changes rivals with Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, Mahindra KUV 100 and Ford freestyle.
