The Maruti Suzuki Baleno Premium Hatchback is going to be the first cross badged product for both the auto makers – the Suzuki Motor Corporation and the Toyota Motor Corporation. The Suzuki Motor Corporation and the Toyota Motor Corporation had signed a mutual agreement in the month of March, 2018. According to the agreement both the companies the Suzuki Motor and the Toyota Motor can mutually supply hybrid and other vehicles between themselves in the auto markets of India. As per the report of the Livermint, the Toyota Motor Corporation will be supplied with 25000 units of Maruti Suzuki Baleno Premium Hatchbacks each year.
At Present, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno Premium Hatchback is engineered in the Suzuki’s factory situated in Gujarat, India. From the first quarter of the coming fiscal year, the Toyota Motor Corporation will commence the sales of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno premium Hatchback through in own dealership networks in Indian markets. The Maruti Suzuki Baleno Premium Hatchback will get some updates and minor changes in the exterior and interior before handing over the car to the Toyota Motor Corporation. The updates include revised headlamps, front grille and rearlamps.
As reported by person, who was aware of the development told the newspaper, “The decision has already been taken by both the headquarters in Japan and the first vehicle to be launched will be Baleno. The changes to be made have already been approved as well and both the companies have already decided on the number of vehicles to be supplied.”
The Suzuki Motor Corporation will supply the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza along with the Maruti Suzuki Baleno Premium Hatchback to the Toyota Motor Corporation but at a later stage. In return The Toyota Motor Corporation will supply the Toyota Corolla sedan to the Suzuki Motor Corporation. The dealership networks of the Maruti Suzuki will sell Toyota Corolla sedan in the Indian markets. Therefore both auto company will mutually supply and sell eachothers vehicles. Previously, the Renault Duster, the Nissan Terrano, the Volkswagon Vento and the Skoda Rapid were the part of the similar cross badged product of the Renault – Nissan and Volkswagon – Skoda.
