Facelifted Maruti Suzuki Baleno was recently revealed and bookings were opened. The vehicles are yet to reach the showrooms. Deliveries start at the end of January 2019. Now leaked brochure of the updated model has surfaced online.
The leaked brochure shows the design of the new facelift. We can see that it gets a new bumper design. It also gets a larger air dam and vertical fog lamp housings. The design of the grille is also different. The new model also gets LED projectors instead of the HID units in the older model. Rumors also suggest that the LED projector unit will be available from Delta variant. The older model gets projectors only in the top end Alpha variant. The alloy wheel design also gets an update.
The interiors also get a refresh. We can see a new color scheme for the seats and door pads. The dashboard and AC vent trim also get some changes. The new model Maruti Suzuki Baleno also comes equipped with the latest gen Smartplay Infotainment System. This system made its first appearance in the new WagonR. All the variants get standard features like rear parking sensors, speed warning, and passenger seatbelt warning.
The Facelift variant will be powered by the same 1.2-liter K-Series engine producing 83 bhp power and 115 Nm of peak torque. This is combined with a 5-speed manual gearbox and CVT automatic transmission (petrol variant only). The top spec Baleno RS is available with 1.0-liter booster jet turbo petrol unit which churns out 100 bhp power and 150 Nm of peak torque while combined with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Baleno RS will get minor updates like all black interiors and different alloy design.
