Maruti Suzuki Alto: As we all know, Maruti Suzuki Alto has been granted zero-star safety rating by Global New Car Assessment Program (GNCAP). However, the demand for the car in rapidly increasing globally which raises the security questions on the company. Being an entry-level car, Maruti Suzuki Alto comes at a very cheap price which can be one of the reasons for the increase in sales. It is rated small car of the company which has sold 35 lakh units. The sales and increase remain incessant which force us to consider worldwide ranks have limited or not enduring on buyer purchasing designs and choice in the country.
Recently, Maruti Suzuki Alto has indeed reached safety standards according to the Government of India. According to the new Bharat New Vehicle Safety Assessment Programme and Bharat National Car Assessment Programme (NCAP), it is mandatory for vehicles to have airbags, vehicle reverse gear sensors for the kids and foot-traveler security, speed-alert systems and seatbelt warning system essentially official facilities along with some added improvements. Maruti Suzuki Alto is modified to conform to future collision examination, security, and emission measures.
The company obtains success in all its new models in the market. Their reputation Indian car market is high though, the sales of each new car keep on increasing. However, along with the latest cars, the company has gripped the increase in sales also for the previous models like Alto. The entry-level cars have great demand in the Indian car market as there are many first-time car buyers which are increasing day by day. Without any shocking expression, on the month of February this year, the company recorded the sales of Maruti Suzuki Alto over 35 lakh units.
RS Kalsi, the Senior Executive Director of the company, claimed that not only in India, but Alto is the largest selling vehicle in the world. The Model was introduced in 2000 in India. It is an affordable as well as a small version car. The company has sold 0-10 lakh units within 64 months, 10-20 lakh units in 52 months, 20-30 lakh unit in 45 months, and 30-35 lakh in 24 months. The Alto models on offer come in 800cc, K10, and CNG variants. Maruti Suzuki has also produced certain small car concepts like Maruti Alto and WagonR. In February 2018, the company recorded sales of 33,789 units in Mini cars models.
The marketing of Alto has predominated all the rivaling cars such as Renault Kwid, Datsun Go, and Hyundai Eon which are also mini models. The company is excelling the automobile market rapidly. In previous reports for the year 2008, Maruti Suzuki Alto sales were exceeded more than one million (10 lakh). It was recorded after seven years and five months of the launch date. While it took 64 months to reach first 5 lakh sales, the next 5 lakh units were sold in just 25 months. In 2012, it gained over 20 Lakh sales unit whereas it the sales remains increasing to 35 lakh units, till now.
