Mahindra this time is bang on with its advertisement game. After successfully launching the XUV 300 which gathered a response from the customers. In fact, Mahindra surpassed 13,000 bookings in just one month and more than 2.5 lakh people enquired about the car.
Now to keep up the hype going among the customers and showcase their product Mahindra has gone the Music video way, performed by none other than the highly popular Badshah. No this isn’t just a promotional video, it’s a full-fledged 2.31-minute song which also features dancer Sonal Devraj. The song is called Set the Roads on Fire and it has already got around 50,000 views. The song also features various stunts performed on the XUV 300. Also, the TVC of the XUV300 features Gaurav Gill who is a three-time Asia-Pacific rally champion and has also participated in WRC races. He is also a regular winner in the National Rally Championships.

Coming to the XUV 300 it is based on the S2 Platform which is the same X100 platform underpinning the Ssangyong Tivoli, but it has been changed to meet Indian specifications. The XUV300 measures 3995 x 1821 x 1617 mm (LxWxH). It has the longest wheelbase in its segment at 2600mm. Coming to the front you get a slim grille with chrome inserts and unique LED DRLs design(elongated up to front bumper). It also comes heavily equipped in the safety department, alongside the standard features it gets 7 airbags, front parking sensors, four disc brakes!
Interior of the XUV 300 is feature loaded place to be in. You get First in Class Dual Zone climate control, Steering with 3 modes, comfort, normal and sports mode. You get heated ORVMs, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, electric sunroof, push-button start, a tyre pressure monitor, a tyre position display, auto-dimming IRVM, automatic headlamps and wipers, and cruise control. Also, 17-inch alloys are on offer in the top variant.
Powering the XUV300 is a 1.2 litre, 4 cylinder turbo petrol motor churning out 110 BHP at 5,000 rpm & 200 Nm of torque at 2000-3500 rpm. And a 1.5 Litre diesel engine which offers 115 BHP at 3,750 rpm and 300 Nm of torque at 1500 – 2500 rpm. Both the engines are mated to a 6-speed a manual gearbox. Mahindra is very soon planning to bring in the AMT gearbox.
Mahindra XUV 300 starts at Rs 7.90 Lakhs (ex-showroom for the base petrol variant (W4). Going all the way to Rs 10.8 Lakhs for the top end W8 Diesel. It competed with segment leader Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon and Ford Ecosport. It even manages to surpass Ford Ecosport in March 2019 sales, achieving a number of 4,742 units.
