3rd September 2018, save the date! Mahindra MPV Marazzo, code named U321, launch has been confirmed for the third day of the coming month. It is the first automobile to be co-developed by Mahindra Research Valley in Chennai and its North American Technical Center. The launch will take place at the Nashik Plant of Mahindra.
The MPV will be launched in 7 and 8 seater configurations just like the Toyota Innova. There will be captain seats in the second row, which can be flipped forward to reach the last rows, in the seven seater ones whereas bench seats in the eight seater version of the same where there is a 40:20:40 split in the foldable benches. The black and beige colour combined interiors house a t-shaped dashboard with faux aluminum inserts, leather upholstery and a 7” touchscreen infotainment system featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. 3 spoke steering wheel with faux aluminum detailing are also present. Safety measures include airbags, ABS, EBD and rear parking sensors as standard.
The monocoque chassis MPV derives its name from a shark and the logo hints the origin of the name. Shark teeth like grille inserts, shark tail inspired tail lamps and shark fin antenna just reconfirms the name of the car. The engine has nit yet been confirmed but rumour has it that there will be a 1.6 liter diesel engine option from Falcon Series which will generate 121 hp power and 300 Nm peak torque. A six speed manual transmission as well as automatic transmission option will be available. The petrol variant will also be launched in due course of time.
The Marazzo will be priced in between Rs 12 lakhs to Rs 15 lakhs. The car once launched will take down Renault Lodgy, Tata Hexa, Toyota Innova Crysta, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the Honda BR-V.
