KTM RC 125 Teased In Official Video - Bookings Open For Rs 5,000

Austrian motorcycle manufacturer KTM has been gearing up for the launch of their smallest supersport in the country. While initially these 125cc machines were made in India and exported, but things have changed after the launch of the KTM Duke 125. The sales number of KTM Duke 125 speaks for the bike, as it became the highest selling among the Duke lineup.

It has been spied before also today KTM dropped a teaser video on their facebook page. KTM has also started taking booking for RC 125 for a token amount of Rs 5,000. Deliveries should commence in July.

The video showcased a little glimpse of the paint job and basic silhouette of the motorcycle. The design of the bike is the same and inspired by the KTM RC 200. The paint scheme of the bike looked to be a Black and Orange paint job, with orange colour alloy wheels on offer. The bike gets an underbelly exhaust as opposed to the single side exhaust that comes in the International variant. The RC series is the supersport series from KTM, hence it gets a committed riding position and full fairing compared to the Duke. The bike can be really good for a starter bike for people who love Supersports.

The heart of the bike is the same 124.7cc, single cylinder, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled motor which makes 15hp of power and 12Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed transmission. Suspension duties are carried by a 43mm USD fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear. The bike also gets ABS, along with 300mm disc brake up front and 230mm disc at the rear.

Launch of the KTM RC 125 will happen soon this month and deliveries will commence soon after. The price of the bike can be around Rs 1.4 Lakhs (ex-showroom), as it will command a bit premium over the Duke 125. The main competition of the KTM RC 125 will be Yamaha R15 V3.
