KTM is finally deciding to build 500cc twin-cylinder racer bike for India which will be produced in coordination with Bajaj Auto. We have earlier got some fantastic racers from KTM, but the competition is getting tougher as all bike makers are making their best ever racing machines. Although, with the introduction of a new 500cc bike, KTM is expected to compete with some upcoming powerful bikes in the market.

At present, KTM is trying to take the third spot in the global top racer bike making company by 2020. The new powerful bike is assumed to be launched as a Duke streetfighter in the country which is one of the most successful ranges of the company. Although, it will be difficult for the Austrian manufacturer to rival against Yamaha and Honda bike series.

For now, the company’s CEO, Stefan Pierer has only confirmed that they are making a 500cc bike, but we do not yet know the series of the bike. However, the bike could probably enter the 390 range of the motorcycle. Duke features a light-weight body frame combined with an outstanding engine which enhances the performance of the bike. The RC range of the company is full-faired, track racing capable. On the other hand, the adventure-tourer range has a great presence along with all-terrain riding.

Meanwhile, Benelli is also preparing to attract the performance fans with a new motorcycle which is said to run on the identical twin-cylinder 499cc powertrain. KTM is reported to launch different variants of the new range which will be mid-specs to top-specs. Without any doubt, the top-specs variant will be priced aggressively. KTM has recently introduced the all-new 790 Adventure in 2018 EICMA which is not coming to India sooner. It is introduced with the Duke’s 799cc, LC8c, a parallel-twin engine which churns out 95 hp power.

Commenting on the making of mid-spec range, Stefan Pierer told, “The theme is a 790 adventure. We want to sell 15,000 of them next year; the middle class is becoming more important. In this segment, we will come to other models, an SMT and so on. In the 500 cc class, we will bring a two-cylinder machine, which is manufactured by our partner Bajaj in India and with which we compete against the Japanese. Growth is happening in the emerging markets today, and in these emerging markets ‘premium’ is the mid-range of 500 to 800 cc.”

The company has not revealed anything more about the new 500cc bike so, we don’t have any idea under which range it will be added. However, the all-new KTM bike will come with a bang in the Indian automotive market and will raise the competition. The new bike will be equipped with high-level safety features to meet the new safety norms in the country. It will be a new thing in the Indian automotive world and will enhance the dealing of Bajaj Auto.
