The premium seven-seater SUV, Kia Sorento is all set for a debut at the Geneva Motor Show. But much before that, Kia Motors has officially revealed the Sorento. The fourth-generation Sorento comes with a completely new design inside out.
The design language follows the Kia Telluride SUV. The front features the signature Kia tiger-nose grille but sharper and inspired from the Optima. The Kia Sorento also has a lot of sharp lines angles all-over the front and the rear. It gets sleeker LED headlamps with DRls and the rear also features a unique vertical tail lamp design. The side profiles also feature some curves making it look bigger. The SUV features a 35mm longer wheelbase while keeping the overall dimensions relatively shorter which although makes the car look small from the outside, gets loads of space on the inside.
Kia Sorento – New design elements inside out
The interior of the Kia Sorento somewhat resembles the Seltos in the way the digital instrument cluster and the infotainment panel is laid out. Taking a closer look, it looks like the Sorento also gets ambient lighting on the dashboard and the doors. It also gets dual zone climate control. The center armrest looks to be a huge one.
We do not have a lot of information on the engine and performance. But, the Kia Sorento is expected to run on two engine options – a naturally aspirated petrol engine and a turbo petrol motor. It is also expected to get a hybrid electric motor to further boost the performance. A fully plug-in hybrid is also on the cards. The SUV will be available in front or four-wheel drive options with the 4WD only available in the plug-in hybrid variant.
Kia will launch the car at the Geneva Motor Show on March 3rd. However, we do no expect an India launch anytime soon as Kia will work on bringing the Sonnet first.
