KIA has made its entry into India with the debut of Kia Seltos SUV. While the launch is set to take place on 22nd of August we already have a detailed list about the various variants on offer. A total of 8 variants will be available with petrol and diesel engine options.
The Kia Seltos has various first in class features and Kia also amazed us with their various transmission options. With a total of four various transmission options including a 6-speed manual, a seven-speed DCT, a six-speed torque converter and an IVT (CVT). There are an engine and transmission combination available for everybody in the Kia Seltos.
Let’s now talk about the variants and features offered. Starting from the diesel engine which is a 1.5-litre unit which makes around 115ps and 250Nm of torque, gets 5 variants – TE, TK, TK+, TX and TX+. Even starting from the base TE variant Kia offers decent features such as Follow me home headlamps, rear AC vents, steering mounted controls, Bluetooth connectivity, four speakers, shark fin antenna etc.
Coming to the mid variant that is TK+ you get an option of the 6-speed torque converter unit, along with features such as Cruise control, LED DRLs, push button start etc.
The Top variant is TX+ and comes with an option for both manual and automatic along with 8-way power adjustable seat, UV glasses, 8 speaker system from BOSE, 360-degree camera, wireless charging, sunroof, 6 airbags, hill assist and drive modes.
There are two petrol motors and both of them get 3 variants and different transmission options. The superior 1.4-litre turbo makes 140 hp and 242 Nm of torque while the 1.5 litre makes 115 hp and 144 Nm of torque. The three variants are GTK, GTX and GTX+. Quite strangely you get more features on petrol base variant such as LED DRL, LED headlamps, 17-inch alloy, cruise control and rear AC vents.
Coming to the GTX which is the middle variant but gets lots of transmission option with the 1.4-litre motor. You have the option to choose from either a manual, 6 Speed CVT or a 7-speed DCT unit. The top variant GTX+ only comes with a manual transmission as an option, it gets all the features as in Diesel top variant.
So there you have it, the detailed feature list of all the variants of the Kia Seltos. It is expected to be priced between 10-16 lakhs. When launched the Kia Seltos will compete with Hyundai Creta, Jeep Compass, Tata Harrier, Nissan Kicks, Renault Captur and the MG Hector.
