Kia Motor India has finally unwrapped its first car model for the Indian market. The Kia Seltos is one of the most awaited models in the country. The excitement was already seen among he enthusiasts since 2018 Auto Expo where it was first debuted as Kia SP Concept. The car has been revealed with some top-specs features, first-class design. The company will offer the model in many engine and gearbox options.
The company has previously teased the Seltos and there have been many reports on the features, but now its officially revealed and it seems an interesting concept. The all-new Seltos has been produced from the company’s plant in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. The company has financed more than $2 billion to build the facility and showrooms in India. The carmaker aims at increasing the dealerships so that the car reaches all its enthusiasts.
Design of Seltos
The all-new Kia Seltos is revealed in total 8 attractive shades: Intense Red, Punchy Orange, Clear White, Glacier White Pearl, Steel Silver, Gravity Grey, Black Peral, and Intelligence Blue. At the front, the Seltos is equipped with Kia’s traditional ‘Tiger-Nose’ grille highlighting new LED headlamps along with vertical fog lamps. The top specs versions sit on the twin shaded 5-spoke diamond-cut alloy wheels. The name Seltos is derived from two words, Speed and Celtos, a Greek god.
Interior & Safety Features
Seltos is revealed in three variants: iVT, 7DCT and 6AT. The cabin is more luxurious and feature-packed. It is integrated with a large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a new dash. It comes with tons of features which include a 360-degree camera, wireless charging, head-up display (HUD), 7-inch MID, cruise control, SOS button in IRVM, Voice command, and many more. The SUV features various USB charging points, 2-step reclining rear seats, and many storage spaces.
In terms of safety, the car gets ESC (Electronic Stability Control), TCS (Traction Control System), Hill Start Assist Control. The most interesting feature is the UVO connected car system which is integrated with 37 features in seven sorts. The interior is also equipped with cooled front seats. Some additional features include smart pure air system, eight-speaker Bose system, rear door curtains, ventilated seats, and many more.
Kia Seltos is powered by 1.4-litre turbo petrol which comes with diesel and a naturally aspirated petrol engine options. The engines will are BSVI compliant which will satisfy the upcoming emission norms. The sporty-top specs GT-Line variant will be offered with a turbo/DCT combination. In standard, Seltos comes in four transmission options, a CVT, DCT, AT and a manual. It also features different driving modes: Normal, Eco, Sports which will offer a great driving experience in any road condition.
Kia Motors India has announced 265 touchpoints across 160 cities. The company aims at producing up to 3,00,000 cars in the country every year. After the official launch, the compact SUV will rival against the likes of Jeep Compass, Tata Harrier, Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks, Renault Captur and the MG Hector in the range. The prices will be disclosed at the launch. Although, it is expected to be priced between Rs. 11 lakh and Rs. 17 lakh (ex-showroom).
