Kia Goes One Step Up This Month - 4th Largest Vehicle Manufacturer In India

Previous month we thought Kia has done its best run with selling 12000+ units and going on o become the 5th largest vehicle manufacturer in India. And that the sales figure would dip down a bit as festive season passes. But Kia is going against all the odds, Kia Seltos is still hitting record sales numbers every month.

So, in November 2019, Kia sold 14,005 units of the Seltos. That is a huge number when you think Kia is only four months old in India, and they only have a single product on offer right now. This becomes even bigger when you start comparing it to other big names. Kia is only behind Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai and Mahindra. These players are more than two decades old in India, and Kia is 4 months old. Kia has also had cumulative sales of more than 40,000 units and 86,840 bookings until now.

Kia Seltos has managed to become the best selling SUV in India. It has even surpassed Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. Manufacturers like Tata, Toyota, Honda, Ford etc are all behind Kia, even with multiple offerings. This explains how competitive and hard is India Car market to figure out. Though Kia had the localization and market study from Hyundai, their execution of the knowledge gained from its sister company seems to hit spot on.

Kia has its manufacturing plant in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. Which can produce 3,00,000 units annually. Kia has also ramped up production and started second shift at the plant. They are looking to expand their dealership network to 300 till the end of March 2020.

Kia Is Now In The List Of Top 5 Carmakers With Just One Product!

Kia Seltos starts at Rs 9.69 lakh and goes up to Rs 15.99 lakh for the top-end variant. Kia is also expected to increase the price of the Seltos by 5% from January 1. Even with the marginal price increase, we don’t think it will affect the sales of Kia. Pretty sure now this is not the early hype of the product, people genuinely seem to love what Kia is offering. It’s an overall competent package, which offers the best features, look and decent engine combination at the price point.
