News has it that the Kia Motors are going to bring their production spec SUV in India in 2019. But seems like the company is in a bit of dilemma with the naming of their car. So, they have organised a web poll, under the name ‘Fame for Name’ and requested the potential buyers to chose a name they would like to call it. Kia merchandise will also be gifted to the lucky voters. The voting process will continue till 20 th June 2018.
Tusker, SP-Z , Trazor and Trailster are the names the voters can chose from. Trazor is leading with more than 63 % votes followed by Tusker at 23 %, SP-Z at 10% whereas the Trailster has the least at 3.6 %. A 1.1 billion dollars production unit in Anantpaura, Andhra Pradesh will be starting the production of the Kia SUV sometime in mid 2019. The concept of the car was demonstrated at the Auto Expo 2018. Going with the Kia family traditions the SUV is going to have a ‘Tiger Nose’ grille in the front and the rear part with the taillights has somewhat similarity to the Hyundai Creta. The wheels are likely to be 16 or 17 inch alloy ones. The car is expected to run on BSVI petrol or diesel engine mated with a 6 speed manual or automatic transmission system. Premium interiors with 6 airbags and ABS with EBD and BA is confirmed as a standard for the SUV. Edgy headlamps and slimmer edgier running lights are also expected in the SUV, along with a two tone design.
Kia is all set on a plan to release 4 more SUVs in India ina 1.5 years time. The Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster and Captur are the potential rivals that the concept based SUV is going to face. The SUV will come within a price range of Rs. 11 lakhs and Rs. 17 lakhs. Sonic and Carnival MPV are also going to be introduced in the Indian market by Kia.
