Kia Motor: In Auto Expo 2018, South Korea’s second-largest automobile company, Kia Motor has declared their formal approach to the competing Indian car market with a hit. The company has showcased 16 of its global range cars including the SP Concept, which is a global reveal displaying a forthcoming compact SUV coming in India. The latest version is expected to hit the Indian car market in the second half of 2019.
The Kia SP Concept is focused more on the design as the company usually does in all other global models. According to Kia Motor, they are motivated by Indian culture and encouraged by developing technologies. The vehicle comes in the dual-tone color of white roof and a shiny orange exterior. The front of the concept looks like its motivated by massive SUVs of the firm’s global list. It has a plain front, twin-piece headlamps and a flat bonnet which provides the SP Concept a squared-off SUV appearance. The SP Concept features a floating roof, layered wheel arches, body lines and big alloy wheels which gives it a massive aspect. It is designed with silver highlights, grey lower cladding and amazing sprinkles of tones which looks really amazing.
At the back of the SP Concept, you will notice huge tail lamps divided by a silver horizontal trim. It has the cladding present above the bumper whereas a high skid plate located below. The bumper comes with faux dual exhausts. The company has not declared the engine and some other specs for India yet. However, it could launch with 1.0-litre, turbocharged petrol, and a 1.6-litre, turbocharged diesel.
In the inside of the car the the SUV has been seamlessly designed and equipped with a floating infotainment system with all digital driver infotainment system and has a dual tone interiors and dual tone steering wheel as well. The dashboard too is very clean and looks top-notch. Being Kia motors part of Hyundai Motor Group globally, Kia will be rival and operate independently as a different entity. However, considering the platform sharing between the two giants, we expect the SP concept to be based on Hyundai Creta platform.
The SUVs are widely accepted by the Indian customers so let’s see what happens after the launch of SP concept. The Kia Concept SP cars will rival against the Hyundai Creta and the Renault Captur, Tata Nexon and Maruti Suzuki Brezza. However, the pricing of the SP Concept production version will depend on its success in Indian market as we have SUV’s which are priced very competitively.
With SP Concept, Kia Motor also showcased some tremendous cars like Kia Sportage, Kia Niro, Kia StingerGT, Kia CreedGT, Kia Stonic, Kia Cedenza, and many more. From all the Kia lineups, Stinger won all the attraction of the peoples. It will be the fastest and most compelling car till now by Korean automobile company to debut in India. The company will offer three engine alternative versions of Stinger GT: a 2.0-litre turbo petrol, a 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel, and the highest 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine. However, the company debuted twin-turbocharged 3.3-litre V6 at the event. It offers 365bhp at 6,000rpm and 510Nm of torque between 1,300-4,500rpm.
