The upcoming 26th October, 2018 is going to be an important day for Tata Motors. Tata Motors is gearing up for the launch of their two JTP models – Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP performance models on 26th October, 2018. The Tiago JTP hatchback and the Tigor JTP sub 4 metre sedan were unveiled earlier this year at the 2018 Auto Expo, New Delhi held in February. Both the JTP models are jointly developed by the Tata Motors and Jayem Auto.

Both the JTP models will have dimensions similar to the standard models. However, the JTP models – the Tiago JTP and the Tigor JTP sports new 15 inche alloy wheels with wider tube. Besides that the JTP models will come with a lower ride height and adjustable suspension to render sportier experience to the driver. The 2018 Auto Expo, New Delhi had seen the Tiago JTP with a ride height of 161 mm. The production spec is expected to remain unchanged from the model which was showcased at the Auto Show.

The Tata Tiago JTP and Tata Tigor JTP gets visual updates in form of contrast colour elements including the ORVMs covers, fog lamp housing, JTP logos and touches of sporty design on the interior of the cars. Besides that the JTP performance models will be distinct from the standard models in few more aspects including the red highlights, smoked out headlamps, mesh grille with a JTP batch in red colour, a small hood vents and functional dual tip exhaust. The interior of the Tigor JTP and the Tiago JTP gets dull grey black dual tone scheme with red highlights, aluminium pedals and leather seats.

Powering both the JTP models – the Tiago JTP and the Tigor JTP is the 1.2 litre three cylinder turbo petrol engine, similar to the motor seen on the Tata Nexon. This engine churns out a maximum power of 110 PS and produces a peak torque of 170 Nm. Therefore the Tiago JTP will be more powerful than the Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS and the Volkswagen Polo GT TSI. Unlike the Nexon, the petrol motor powering the JTP models will come matted to get a five speed manual gearbox. The engine powering the Tata Nexon comes matted to six speed manual gearbox.
