Jeep India has confirmed that the unveil of the Trawlhauk SUV in the month of June. The company has not made any statement about the launch of the SUV yet. However, the Jeep Compass Trailhawk SUV is expected to be launched in the month of July, just after the car makes its official debut. The offroad version of the Jeep Compass features Jeep’s Active Drive Low 4X4 system with a 20:1 crawl ratio and the Selec-Terrain Traction Management System with exclusive Rock mode to take the SUV on the difficult terrain.
The unique features of the off road version of the Jeep Compass- the Trailhawk comprises of features like the black anti-glare hood decal, red recovery hooks, Hill Descent Control, skid plates, grey window surrounds, Trail Rated badging and many more. Besides that, Jeep India will also equip the Trailhawk SUV with class-leading off-roading capabilities with various exclusives. The off road version of the Jeep Compass also comes with a 30-degree approach angle, a 24-degree breakover angle and a 34-degree departure angle offered on the top of the line variant.
The Jeep Compass Trailhawk will be powered by a BS-VI compliant 2.0-litre MultiJet II turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine. The BS-IV version motor is tuned to churn out a maximum power of 173 PS and produce a peak torque of 350 Nm. It has been widely anticipated that FCA India will equip the new top-of-the-line with an automatic transmission, but if it will be the expensive 9-speed torque converter unit that is available international spec or not is still a question.
The suspension duties on the Compass Trailhawk SUV are performed by an off-road suspension and a higher positioning of the air intakes. The Trailhawk SUV will have higher ground clearance of 75 mm and an increased water wading depth of 480 mm. The off road version of the Jeep Compass rolls on 17 inches off road tyres. The Compass Trailhawk will come equipped with touchscreen infotainment system preinstalled with navigation. The Trailhawk SUV might be offered with the UConnect 8.4 NAV Radio system.
