Recently, the India bound Jeep Compass Trailhawk SUV has been spotted testing in Jaipur. The Jeep Compass Trailhawk was scheduled to launch in India earlier this year. But the launch is delayed because Jeep is developing its engine to comply with the stricter Bharat Stage VI emission norms, which will enforce from 2020. The upcoming Compass Trailhawk will be the most powerful offering of Jeep and will be positioned at the top of the range offered by Jeep including the Compass retailed in Sport, Latitude, Limited and the soon launched Limited Plus trims.
Jeep will equip its Compass Trailhawk SUV with more features including a long anticipated diesel automatic configeration, a better water wading capacity and a low ratio transfer case which enhances the torque output on demand there by making the SUV more capable of reaching out to challenging places than regular variants. The diesel automatic configeration will make its debut on the Jeep Compass Trailhawk SUV. Besides that the India based Compass Trailhawk SUV will feature four wheel drive with an addition Rock mode for the Selec – Tarrain 4 WD mode selector.
The India based upcoming Compass Trailhawk SUV sports uniquely designed front and rear bumpers which result in better approach [30 degree] and departure [30 degree]. The SUV gets dual tone alloy wheels, which is inspired from the Jeep Compass Limited Plus. Besides that the India bound Jeep Compass Trailhawk SUV features a black anti glare bonnet decal, red recovery hooks and skid plate. The Compass Trailhawk is also expected to come with the panaromic sunroof and a larger 8.4 inch infotainment system, that was seen on the Jeep Compass Limited Plus.
Powering the new Compass Trailhawk is the same 2.0 litre multijet diesel engine, which churns out a maximum power of 170 bhp produces a peak torque of 350 Nm. A nine speed torque converter automatic transmission will get matted to the engine. The upcoming Jeep Compass Trailhawk SUV is likely to sell out at about Rs 2.5 lakh premium over the current top of the line variant. When launched in India, the upcoming the Compass Trailhawk SUV will compete on the likes of the Ford Endeavour, the Isuzu MU – X and the Toyota Fortuner.
