An ‘unfortunate’ Jeep Compass owner from Kerala shares his story about his car. A minor fender bender with a Maruti Suzuki Alto sent his Compass to the workshop. While the Alto suffered from just broken tail lamps, the Compass suffered the major damages.
Speaking about his sufferings, the owner also mentions that a month before the accident, the car had a leak in the diesel pump. He also adds that the car is just 10 months old with just 10,000 km on the clock. The faulty part was replaced under warranty but no explanation was provided.
Jeep Compass repair cost breakdown:
The overall cost for the exterior repair totals up to a whopping Rs 2.76 lakh. The owner also attaches images with the breakdown for the repair cost. We can see that Jeep is charging Rs 28,000 for just basic paint preparation. The front headlight and bonnet cost 39,990 and 34,990 respectively. The radiator grille comes at an expensive 14,969.
Jeep is also replacing the AC condenser, making us question how big the accident actually was. This comes in at another Rs 7,479. Other costs include Rs 7,000 for the radiator, 16,644 for metal covering radiator closure, and 11,414 for cross rail front bumper. Just the hood hinge costs as much as Rs 4000.
The owner is currently trying to sort the claim process and how the fixing cost was arrived at. He is also frustrated at the company as he has to make countless calls and e-mail exchanges to get any answers. He also says that he is disappointed with the brand’s strong build quality vows.
Jeep is facing a steady loss in sales. Partly due to declining interest. Although the company is trying it’s best by introducing newer models and offers, it is not able to maintain a monthly average sales of 2,000 units
