Mahindra and Mahindra is set to unveil the new Jawa motorcycle in a few weeks. The very first spy shots are now out. Although it is seen with heavy camouflage.
By looking at the images, we can see that Jawa has gone with the retro style approach. It sports a round headlight to go along with the overall retro theme. It also has a curved fuel tank and a long seat along with spoked wheels. Although the instrument cluster is covered, it is expected to be an analog unit.
We can also see that this new motorcycle will have twin exhausts. This system is expected to be similar to the one seen on the Mahindra Mojo.
The frame on the new Jawa Motorcycle is also new. It uses a box-section swingarm and twin shock absorbers with gas canisters at the rear. The front will feature regular telescopic forks. We can also see that Mahindra is going with a single disc brake at the front and a drum at the rear.
The new Jawa will run on a 300cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled, DOHC engine. The engine is also BS VI compliant. Even with the modern touches to the motor, it is expected to feel every bit retro. It will produce 27hp and 28Nm of peak torque. The motor is paired with a 6 speed transmission system. According to Jawa, this new engine is designed from the scratch and is not similar to the one found on the Mojo.
The new Jawa motorcycle will be unveiled on November 14 and is expected to against the Royal Enfields in the Indian market. Royal Enfield is also bringing the new 650 twins to India soon.
