Jaguar Land Rover today unveiled its much anticipated SUV: Jaguar I in the Indian car market. Previously the car was supposed to be launched on March 9, 2021; however the launching date was shifted to March 23, 2021. The model will take on the likes of Mercedes- Benz EQC, the upcoming Porsche taycan and Audi e-tron. The cost of this model starts at 1.06 crore (excluding showroom) and increases up to 1.12 crore (excluding showroom)
The Jaguar l will be available in three variants S, SE and range-topping HSE with 12 colours: Fuji White, Yulong White, Indus Silver, Firenze Red, Caldera Red, Caesium Blue, Borasco Grey, Eiger Grey, Portofino Blue, Santorini Black, Farallon Pearl Black, and Aruba. Dimensionally, the new Jaguar I- Pace measures 4,682 mm in length, 2,139 mm in width, and 1,566 mm in height while the wheelbase stands at 2,990 mm. The car comes with a ground clearance of 174 mm. The newly launched Jaguar is a 90kWh lithium-Ion battery with two electric motors (one on each axle) that yield a combined output of 389bhp and 696Nm of torque. Within 4.8 seconds the Jaguar I can gain speed of 100kmph from standstill. However, the model offers a range of around 480 km.
The electric car can be charged by the 100kW rapid charger that charges the car from 0 to 80% in just 40 minutes. The 7.4 kW AC wall charger will take 12 to 13 hours to be completely charged. Jaguar Land Rover has installed charging infrastructure across numerous dealerships for the buyers to offer them tension-free driving experience. Some of the eye-catchy features of the newly launched jaguar’s model are matchless that include matrix LED headlamps, 19-inch alloy wheels, LED tail lights, adaptive cruise control, powered tail-gate, Meridian music system, 3D surround camera, leather sports seats with leather upholstery, panoramic sunroof, Jaguar’s remote app control and a touchscreen system for the AC controls. For the safety of its customers the company has installed a well comprehensive package that includes DSE, ETC, roll back protection, emergency brake assist, roll stability control and much more for its passengers.
The company started its pre-bookings for the model last year in November whose deliveries are likely to start immediately after its launch. The company has launched the model with a 5-year service package and 5-years RSA along with a standard 8 years/1,60,000 km battery warranty.
