Land Rover Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque SUVs have been available with the 2.0 litre Ingenium Petrol Motor, which has earlier been seen on a number of Jaguar automobiles. 200hp (single-scroll turbo), 250hp and 300hp (twin-scroll turbo) forms of the mentioned engine is available in the market.
The Discovery Sport’s SE and HSE trim features the petrol motor, and has a price of Rs. 49.20 lakhs and Rs. 52.70 lakhs respectively . The Evoque will get the same for its SE and HSE dynamic trims, priced from Rs. 51.06 lakhs to Rs. 60.73 lakhs. The low friction aluminium-intensive design gives the motor a lightweight, increases thermal efficiency and fuel economy. The reduction of turbo lag will also improve power output. This in turn enhances performance of the vehicle and reduces the running cost. The petrol motor will give a power output of 247 PS and torque of 365 Nm. The transversely mounted engine will be mated with a eight speed ZF automatic. The Range Rover Velar and the Evoque convertible already comes with the 2.0 litre Ingenium Petrol Motor.
Rohit Suri, President & Managing Director, Jaguar Land Rover India, made a brief statement, “The Ingenium petrol powertrain has been well accepted in the Range Rover Velar and we are now happy to offer our Land Rover Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque customers the same refined and efficient experience with exceptional performance.” Both the JLR and Evoque comes with features like Wi-Fi Hotspot (with 4G access to up to eight devices) and Pro Services, whereas In Control-Pro Services gets key features like the route Planner App, Commute Mode and Sharing ETA (expected time of arrival). The uncertainity of diesel engines has led the JLR and Evoque to introduction of Petrol engines. They expect that this will help them to serve their customers better.
