Infiniti, a subsidiary of Nissan has teased their new electric crossover concept ahead of the unveiling at the Detroit Motor Show in January. Earlier this year, Infiniti had announced that they will go electric by 2021.
Design boss Karim Habib describes the concept as “The concept car we will show in Detroit is the beginning of a new era for Infiniti, and an illustration of where we want to go with the brand. Electrification and other new technologies have given us the opportunity to evolve our design philosophy”.
The new design language for electrification also consists of Japanese heritage. We cannot make out a lot of details from the darkened image. But it looks like the concept will be extremely futuristic and that the production variant will be considerably different. This cis also evident from past Infiniti concepts like Q Inspiration and Prototype 10.
More details about this concept are not known yet. It is similar in size and proportions to the BMW X1. The company states that “with new exterior proportions, electrification also gifts interior space, enabling spacious and lounge-like interiors, rich in welcoming and assistive technologies”.
