Suzuki Ertiga: Earlier, Suzuki Ertiga MPV was spotted in leaked spy shots. Now, finally, the company has uncovered has most awaited second generation Ertiga MPV. The fans were eagerly waiting for the famous unit of the Maruti Suzuki India. The company has debuted the latest model in current Indonesia International Motor Show and it is also expected to be also launched in India. The latest variant of Ertiga has received packs of modifications in terms of design, dimensions and updated more robust engine. The next-gen underpins inspired by the Heartect platform which was also developed for latest Swift, Dzire, Ignis and also the Baleno.
Next-gen Ertiga is now noticed with chrome lines on the modified hexagonal grille whereas the angular headlamps come with projector lens. The company has also revised the front bumper and C-shaped housing for fog lamps. The latest hood app[eared in husky ridges. The L-shape LED tail lights gave it more vivid look. The license plate is designed with chrome detailing whereas the rear bumper is now narrower. It is outfitted with all-new 15-inch 185/R65 alloy wheels which offers an extreme presence to the car.
Now about the dimensions of the latest model by Suzuki. The car is 4,395 mm longer, 1,735 mm wider and 1,690 mm taller. It has got a total increase in dimension by 99mm in length, 40mm in width, and only 5mm in height. The wheelbase continues at 2,740 mm and 180mm ground clearance. In terms of technical specifications, the latest Ertiga is powered by a powerful 1.5-litre K15B, DOHC, VVT petrol engine which is capable of delivering 104hp of the maximum peak power and peak torque of 138NM. The engine is combined with a five-speed manual transmission and a 4-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The Indian version is also expected to come with the identical powerful engine.
The cabin includes a modified instrument panel and flat-bottomed steering inspired by the existing Swift hatchback. Some other features are twin-colored beige/black dash lines along with upward lined AC vents, a latest 6.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and moderated cupholders. Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is an existing model in India since 2012. It is the best-selling MPV in the Indian market. The company has reported approx, 676,000 units of Ertiga sold in February 2018. The report included the sales production of Indonesia and India and also tradings to more than 70 nations and cities. The car is expected to be introduced in India by this Diwali 2018.
