Hyundai is all ready to showcase their latest iteration of the Verna at the Chengdu Motor show in China. But before the official reveal, full images of the new Verna have come online.
The exterior of the new Verna features updated styling both at the front and rear of the car. The car is more sharper and features angular lines at the rear as well as the front. The grille is changed to a larger trapezoidal grille with four chrome stripes, headlamps are longer and larger than before and are connected to the grille. Fog lamp area gets silver accents around them.
Going to the sides there’s new alloy wheel design along with the shark fin antenna. The rear tail lamps are now connected via a LED strip. Also the rear reflector design is very unique with vertical angular shape. Faux diffuser with silver strip enhances the sporty look of the rear.
Talking about the interiors there is no picture or much information about the interior. But looking at the major changes in exterior the interior too could get better features. We can spot the sunroof in the picture. The infotainment system is expected to be bigger and equipped with better features. It can also come with features of a connected car like Venue.
The engine option will be 1.5 liter petrol and 1.5 liter diesel unit. These new engines will be BS-6 compliant and will be borrowed from the Kia Seltos. The 1.5 liter will output 115ps of power and 250nm of torque which is little lower than the current 1.6 unit. Both engines will be mated to 6-speed manual gearbox and Hyundai will also provide 6-speed automatic options.
The new Hyundai Verna facelift will launch in India in 2020. When launched will compete with Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Honda City and Toyota Yaris.
